A Medical Brigade is where a small groups of doctors and volunteers travel to the remotest areas where medical facilities are often completely lacking to provide medical attention in a variety of specialisation. In these areas some of the country's most needy people live in impoverished conditions.

Normally in premises provided by the local authorities or the community itself, we organise a temporary medical centre and a pharmacy. The operation might last from a single day up to weeks, depending on the size of the area and on the number of residents.

Vaccinations, anti-parasitic drugs and vitamins are always distributed during these visits together with the specific patient requirement.

What can you do?

Simply support the project by donating a small amount of money.
We will use your donation to buy medicines or equipment to guarantee a better quality of medical care. With 2003 costs:

25 US dollars, can supply anti-parasitic drugs to 60 people.
50 US dollars, can supply a monthly ration of vitamins for 40 children.

Otherwise, if you personally want to work with us in Ecuador, please don't hesitate to visit the volunteers section in this site and contact us.

We will be happy to share our experiences with you.
