Aid to people of Chone affected by the earthquake

While in Ecuador is upgraded to 654 the number of confirmed dead, 58 missing, 12,000 injured and over 26,000 homeless, we inform you that we returned yesterday from Chone (Prov. Manabì) where we have seen the situation caused by the earthquake of 16 April.

In collaboration with the Red Internacional de Educación operating in that area for a year and a half, we have reached the houses of the people affected by the disaster by giving priority to disabled children. We handed bags with food and, if necessary, medication.

Since 2003 Ayuda Directa has been helping the Juntos Venceremos School of Chone that welcomes more than 100 children with special abilities.

The educational structure suffered partial damage that we will evaluate to program the works of arrangement, once the humanitarian emergency is over.

We thank the friends and the friends who have already taken steps demonstrating generosity and affection towards those who had little and has lost everything.
