Improvement of Nutrition and Health in Colta County

Today a second meeting was held to develop a project proposing to improve child nutrition and health in 13 schools in Colta County.

The project proposes an alliance among Ayuda Directa, Cemoplaf (Medical Center for Orientation and Family Planning) and the Provincial Direction of Education Intercultural and Bilingual in Riobamba. This project hopes to reach a large number of adolescents with activities rooted in the theory and practice of themes such as agriculture, the raising of animals, the environment, and health. One of the principal objectives of this project is also to recuperate ancestral knowledge of the above themes.

Chakra is written and pronounced in the same way that the word for the energetic points of the human being are understood in Eastern Philosophy. In South America, however, it is a Kichwa word that describes everything existing in a space. It specifically describes the amplification of biodiversity, the presence of different cultivated plant growth, animals that harmoniously integrate with human beings, and spiritual and sacred forces.
